CASE STUDIES
CASE STUDIES:
Professional Organizing
Project:
A Washington DC family had to prepare to sell their five bedroom house, which held twenty years of accumulation of personal property, memorabilia, clothes, records, and household items, as well as excess furniture. All of the items had to be assessed for value of importance and reorganized for storage, sale or disposal within 30 to 60 days. The personal and professional documents were stored in various locations throughout the house.
Solution:
Absoulute Organizing Solutions streamlined and organized a wide range of personal and professional documents by creating a logical, easy to maintain filing system for storage and maintenance. AOS also identified and organized the entire inventory of household items into categories for sale, distribution, donation, safekeeping, retention and disposal.
Project:
A Maryland resident could not find items stored in her overflowing closets. Some shoes were in boxes, others on the floor, clothes, purses, and accessories were stored in four different closets located in different areas of the house. She was constantly purchasing duplicate because she could not find things when she was ready to wear them.
Solution:
Absoulute Organizing Solutions worked with the client to have new closet shelving installed, and sorted and purged all of the items in the closets. The items were sorted in categories such as Keep, Donate, and Toss based on the client’s current size, style, type, last date of use, and love of the items. AOS then organized the items by type and color on the new shelves and drawers in each closet.
Project:
The President of a non-profit office was chaotic and disorganized. There were piles of papers, office supplies, and other items throughout the office. The Executive always felt overwhelmed with so many piles in his office. It took hours, sometimes weeks or longer to respond to requests because he could not find a document. This executive needed to eliminate the piles, have an efficient filing system and processes to help him become more productive.
Solution:
Absoulute Organizing Solutions designed an efficient and effective filing system that allowed the executive to locate and re-file documents with ease. We created a “home” for all of the supplies and other items stored in the office. AOS sorted each pile, created categories, developed processes for incoming items, and setup an easy to maintain system.
Move Management
Project:
A non-profit moved to a new 20,000 sq. ft. space. The new office space was designed and built to meet the organization’s requirements. The organization needed move management services, purging old files and materials from off-site storage and creating a centralized location for office supplies.
Solution:
Absoulute Organizing Solutions planned, managed and executed the move logistics by providing pre-move, move-day, post-move, professional organizing and records management services. AOS provided hands-on professional organizing and decluttering services, coordinated with the vendors and move planning. We managed the move on move day and performed post-move support, which included unpacking and setup of common areas (conference rooms, supply areas, kitchen, file rooms, etc.). AOS also downsized the documents and other items stored in the off-site storage.
Project:
A Maryland resident wanted to downsize from her three bedroom home and move to a two bedroom apartment in a senior living community. She wanted to give up the responsibilities of a home and wanted to move to a smaller space. She needed help with downsizing and decluttering her home and moving to her new apartment.
Solution:
Absoulute Organizing Solutions helped with downsizing and planning the logistics of the move. We provided pre-move organizing, downsizing, decluttering, donation pickup, hauling and packing services. AOS provided onsite move day services and unpacking and settling-in to the new two bedroom apartment.
Records Management
Project:
Catholic Charities USA wanted to reduce the amount of duplicate information being maintained by their staff. Instead of each group maintaining duplicate information, CCUSA wanted to create a central file system so that all of the information will be stored in one place.
Solution:
Absoulute Organizing Solutions created a records management system that could be used by the entire staff. The system eliminated duplicate information and included color-coded files by department/function, record retention schedule, check out form, and a searchable online index. The new records management system allowed for rapid retrieval of information or files, easy of staff maintenance and ultimate file destruction.
Project:
Joseph Daniel Clipper of Clipper Classics has been creating portraits for over thirty years. He wanted to develop a process and a filing system that could help him maintain the negatives.
Solution:
Absoulute Organizing Solutions designed a system that allowed Clipper Classics to store the physical negatives using folders with numeric and alpha labels. AOS created an Access database with the each client’s information and the location of the negatives. An index was created for each folder and a report placed in a binder to assist with easy location of negatives.
